Tanjiro Kamado and his friends Inosuke and Zenitsu arrived in the area after hearing about unexplained deaths and weird happenings. The sad past that led to the curse was disclosed by Elder Sowardsmith, a grizzled man with knowledge engraved into his features.
Akumano, a demon ruler, devastated the community many generations ago, bringing chaos and hopelessness. The monster was ultimately vanquished by a formidable swordsman, but not before it had cursed the region and vowed to return every few years to retrieve the residents' souls.
Tanjiro and his companions made a commitment to permanently remove the curse from the hamlet. The community was enveloped in darkness as night fell, and unsettling voices could be heard echoing down the alleys. The demonic presence loomed, announcing its impending reappearance.
Driven by his impetuous disposition, Inosuke surged forward, resolute to confront the monster directly. But the gang split apart when the demon's minions assaulted them. With a swarm of demons spawning in front of him, Zenitsu's anxiety was getting the better of him. He summoned the strength to use his Thunder Breathing skills, and his lightning-quick blows lit up the darkness.
